As a child, I spent countless hours playing Pokemon Gold. It was the very first Pokemon game that I had ever purchased, and to this day I continue to relive the adventure by starting from the very beginning whenever I get the chance.

However, I was never really able to get into the more recent games, so I wanted to play a new Pokemon game that was part of the Game Boy Color series of games.
As a result, I played Pokemon Brown and Prism, and those games motivated me to develop my very own hack for Pokemon Gold!

I don’t have a lot of experience with rom hacking (almost none before I had even started), so I had messed around making crappy hacks for myself in the past, but now I’m doing my best to basically morph everything from Gold’s story and areas so that it feels like a new game in the Generation II series. In other words, Pokemon Bronze is made in a manner that is comparable to that of Pokemon Brown.

My Starters come in a variety of colors, including gold, red, and yellow. I decided that Charmander, Totodile, and Pichu were the “best of” Pokémon for me personally.

The story is essentially your typical Pokemon fare; it takes place immediately after the events of Gold and has you leaving your hometown to obtain a Pokemon from a professor, battling your way through the gym leaders and the elite four while facing off against a rival and a group of enemies along the way.
It was always going to be a standard Pokemon game in my head, and that’s how it turned out.

It has eight towns and some new things/features are more varied environments such as patchy grass in which Pokemon are less likely to appear in, and trees/paths have fade offs into grass and stuff. The Region is called Kohto for lack of a better name that I can think of, and it is located to the south-west of Kanto, which is connected to it via an underground path. I can’t think of a better name for it. Kohto is the name.
