Although this is a classic version, it was rebuilt from its predecessor, so the core of the gameplay does not seem to change much. The plot is similar, still familiar with the scenario of Earth being invaded by hordes of space-based monsters. The player, in the role of protector, needs to eliminate the threat before it spreads to the whole world.
There are a total of 50 levels for players to explore. The goal to be achieved as to continue the process is to defeat the monsters in a random maze. In the first place, it is quite easy to overcome, because this maze is small in size, while Bomber Man’s enemies are sparse and move stupidly. The only weapons to fight throughout the game are bombs. Of course, there are many types, and the default is usually quite weak as the explosion radius is not really enormous. Over time, the complexity increases both in terms of the maze’s designs and enemies. Along with that is the appearance of obstacles, making it possible for you to be stuck and unable to move in some cases. It would be unfortunate to be caught in that situation, even led to the character’s death. After that much effort, whoever wants to finish the game? But sometimes, it is necessary to accept reality and replay it again. With the experience and lessons learned from the previous failure, you will surely be a better player. Classic NES Series: Bomberman is not a role-playing game, so there will be no vitality. There are only two outcomes, alive or dead. Instead of complicated items, only special bombs are provided. It has a more significant explosive radius but also has a longer detonation time. This may be enough to make the enemy escape, but if you block all of the paths, their chances of survival seem to be zero.
About the changes in this new version, it’s about the password system and the multiplayer mode. Through connectivity, it’s easy to compete with real people, instead of boring CPUs. And element to save the process is also optimized to access the previous unfinished stage. Compared to the original release, the complexity nearly disappears. There will be no need to remember long passphrases, but instead, store them in memory for faster, more straightforward manipulation.
