MOTHER 3 builds the scene after the end of EarthBound for many years. In Nowhere Islands, it is a very beautiful place, where the plants and animals thrive and bring a peaceful life to humans. However, the good things belong to this place are also the source of the bad things that are about to happen next. A bunch of monsters calling themselves “Pigmask” have landed on the island. Under the command of a tyrant named Porky Minch, he banished all residents and destroyed the vegetation to construct buildings, serving the development of technology. At that time, Lucas and his family went to the Nowhere Islands to visit his grandfather Alec. They noticed the structures being illegally built and the evacuation of residents to a remote area.
