Doctor Eggman has returned with a terrible plan. He kidnaps all creatures, then turns them into robots. Soon, his empire will grow, and no one can stop him from conquering the world. Knuckles and Tails are also part of the plan. Naturally, when he heard the news about his friends, Sonic was furious. He immediately set out to rescue. Along the way, Sonic meets a rabbit named Cream and allows the rabbit to join the journey because her mother has also been kidnapped. However, Eggman soon fled to the space station and left the dangers to stay on Earth. The two of them have come together to solve the immediate problem, not forgetting to chase the wicked.

Sonic Advance 2 was developed from its predecessor, so it inherits most of the features that players may already know. Specifically, it includes seven unique stages and many levels to conquer. The core point is that players need to complete seven steps to participate in the fateful meeting with Doctor Eggman. But how to gain access? The answer is based on Chaos Emeralds. It can be collected randomly in levels, or from the game’s quest system.

Most of the gameplay involves gathering items and defeating enemies. But first, you need to choose one of the five characters to play, and if you’re a newbie, Sonic is probably the only option. He stands out for his ability to move speed and can roll into a ball with many teeth to damage the enemy. The remaining friends are also not inferior when Cream and Tails can fly, Amy uses a hammer to attack the enemy, and Knuckles can climb the walls easily. However, they did not have a health system but replaced it with rings. Pay attention to the upper left corner of the screen, and try to maintain a number of rings greater than zero to continue your life. Rings can be collected along the way, and can obviously be lost every time an enemy is damaged. This seems to bring quite a lot of risks.

Besides the story mode, this second release also brings a challenge mode. The only difference is that there will be timers for each level. And as the name implies, you need to reach different levels of difficulty and go beyond your ability if you want to win.
