The combat in Gladius takes place in a turn-based arena. Players compete in various arenas to earn experience and level up their gladiator schools by engaging in combat and adding new members. Their ultimate goal is to become champions.
Taken from the user guide: “The events of Gladius begin right around the time two schools begin their competition for the Championship. The story follows the epic saga of two young heroes, Ursula and Valens. Ursula is the daughter of a barbarian king from the land of Nordagh, and Valens is the son of Imperia’s greatest gladiator. Both Ursula and Valens are from the kingdom of Imperia. Take control of one of these characters and join them on an epic and bloody journey as they attempt to fulfill their roles in the story and prevent another catastrophic war from breaking out around the world.”
