One-on-one fighting in the style of Mortal Kombat is one thing, but fighting with weapons is quite another. Soul Calibur II follows in the footsteps of Soul Blade and the Dreamcast Soul Calibur, with intense action and many weapons to deal massive blows.
The majority of the action takes place in Weapon Master mode, where you select a character and travel a predetermined map to fight the many other warriors across a variety of terrain styles and challenges. You’ll be fighting in quicksand one minute, and then you’ll have to defeat an opponent using only throwing attacks the next.
Other modes include the standard arcade, survival, and practice modes and multiplayer options for two people to compete.
Each Soul Calibur II edition also includes a unique character for the platform. Spawn makes his Xbox debut, Link from The Legend of Zelda series makes his GameCube debut, and Tekken fighter Heihachi makes his PS2 debut.
