The Battle of Olympus is a role-playing action game released for Nintendo. The game was released in North America in 1989 and in 1991 in Europe. The game tells the story of a battle between the gods, Hades – the ruler of hell who attacked Mount Olympia. The battle was fierce between the two opposing sides. In the end, Hades kidnapped the god of love named Helene and also Orpheus’s girlfriend to hell to make her his wife. Orpheus will have to descend to Hades to save his lover. Hades ruled hell and lived in a place called Tartarus. This is where Helene is held and also where Hades’s most powerful minions are concentrated.

On his journey, Orpheus needs to meet other Greek gods to get help and he is favored by these gods. Starting from Zeus – the leader of Olympian gods, Zeus encouraged other gods to give Orpheus the power to help him rescue Helene. These powers are manifested in the form of weapons, shields, and other special items. Among them, the most special is a guitar. If he plays this guitar, then Pegasus will be summoned to bring Orpheus to move to the dark hell.

At the beginning of the game, the player is equipped with a sword made from wood with weak attack power and can only attack melee. During the game, players will be able to receive other weapons with great damage and different special abilities. The Fennel Blade has the ability to fire a fireball towards the enemy. And the Nymph sword unleashes a bolt of lightning with very strong damage that can instantly destroy weak enemies.

In the game, you will meet legendary creatures in Greek mythology such as Taurus, Lamia, Cyclops, Medusa, Cerberus, Stymphalian and Lion Nemea … Just like the action games of Nintendo, the Battle of Olympus consists of many stages and each stage has multiple levels with increasing difficulty. At the end of each stage, the player will have to destroy one of Hades’s strongest minions. When defeating enemies, they can drop items such as weapons, medicine, hearts … These items have a higher drop rate when you kill the boss. You will lose your life if your character’s HP is depleted. If the character’s life runs out, then the game will end and you will have to start from the first level. The game also has a function to save the progress of the game. You can continue your progress after re-entering the game instead of having to start from the first level.
