The original Star Wars name is a famous name, known as movies on the big screen. Receiving so much response from the audience, Star Wars: Episode I Racer was then released as a product created based on the name Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The game comes from the developer and publisher LucasArts and was published for the Nintendo 64 devices. In addition, the game is featured on many other platforms, including Dreamcast, Game Boy Color, Microsoft Windows, and even is the Macintosh, from the early years since its launch. Racing is the main style of this version.

The story the game brings will be similar to the story of part one of the Star Wars series. The only difference is, here, you will be the main character, and the stories in the movie will take place around you. The game consists of eight separate worlds with twenty-five different race tracks.

The gameplay of the game revolves around the races. It supports both single-player and multiplayer modes. In the single-player category, players can complete the Tournament mode, Free Race mode, and Time Attack modes. In it, Tournament mode will host a tournament with races for those who want to compete for the championship trophy. If players complete these matches, they will receive bonuses. Complete with higher rankings will receive more rewards. In-game currency can be used to buy parts of the vehicles or to repair droids. And more importantly, they are the prerequisite for you to unlock new characters and tracks. The number of in-game characters can be said as relatively diverse. Initially, however, only seven characters could take part in the races: Anakin, Skywalker, Dud Bolt, Ebe Endocott, Elan Mak, Gasgano, and Ody Mandrell. To explore this variety, players need to collect a number of rewards to unlock all the characters, even villains. Besides, Free Race Mode is a place where you can practice to improve your skills in responding to different situations. Unopened characters or racing tracks can be experienced through this mode. Time Attack mode seems to be familiar to gamers. In this mode, players will race against time to complete the courses set out earlier.
