This version is a reimagining of the first released for the Dreamcast. It retains the same cast of characters, including Amigo, the game’s protagonist, and numerous personalities from SEGA’s history.
This version includes 40 original songs and newer tracks, and users can download additional songs using the internet connection on their Wii console. A wide variety of game modes are available, including the more traditional Career, Single-Player, and Multiplayer, as well as newer methods such as Quick Play, Classic, Battle, Survival, and Hustle.
Instead of the traditional maracas included in the first edition of the game, the controls now use the Wii remote and the Nunchuk instead. The player must shake the rules at a specific time when prompted on the screen to complete each stage successfully. It includes a multiplayer component with many game modes, including one called “Love Love,” in which two players must synchronize their motions to score the most points possible. Along with online capabilities, players will not only be able to download songs but will also be able to track their progress on online leaderboards.
