Cyberpunk 2077 feels like a genuine role-playing game. The game is slow-paced full of rich conversations and loads of thought-out options. Conversation options will influence how the character is built, the approach of missions, and more. Cyberpunk 2077 allows your choices to have a big impact on both V’s own story and the stories of the characters around them. There are even some quests that will only open if you make the right choice.
The game’s missions are also exciting, from fun to deeply emotional to thrilling and ultimately dark. Besides shooting missions, V also has object-finding missions similar to a private detective. While the mission structure is undoubtedly the coolest thing that Cyberpunk 2077 gives you control over, this game also has a diverse RPG system that helps you kill or takedown enemies at will.
Cyberpunk does not use a traditional class system. Instead, you invest in upgrade points in five main attributes, then upgrade to the perk in each of those attributes to get more specialized improvements. For example, if you intend to sneak through dangerous situations, the Cool attribute can make enemies detect you more slowly, and the Stealth perk page in this attribute is full of additional benefits. For example, increasing V’s crouch movement speed or unlocking the ability to a takedown from above.
In general, if Cyberpunk 2077 is not delayed, this will be a strong candidate for the GOTY 2020 title. Unfortunately, to be able to launch a good product, CDPR had to miss this opportunity. We’ll have to wait until the 2021 tournament to see how the game will compete with next year’s games.
