The role-playing video game Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm is a typical Japanese RPG featuring a conventional turn-based fighting system and characters drawn in a 2D anime manner.

As was the case with the previous entries in the series, the central focus of Atelier Iris 3 is on the practice of alchemy. This indicates that players can collect various components throughout their quest and use their alchemy talents to create multiple products.

In Atelier Iris 3, players can assume control of three different protagonists:* Edge Vanhite is a 19-year-old raider and alchemist whose duty is to investigate the Alterworlds. He has been doing this for a while.

Iris Fortner is a girl of 16 years old who has been Edge’s buddy since childhood and is just starting as a raider.

Nell Ellis is a girl 15 years old and comes from a noble household. She is an active and enthusiastic young novice raider.

The game’s aesthetics combine two-dimensional imagery and objects and three-dimensional backgrounds with Gust’s signature two-dimensional anime characters. Additionally, the game includes several anime cutscenes, one of which is an introduction video. Ken Nakagawa, recognized for his work on past Atelier titles, is responsible for the game’s music and sound. The fighting system is very similar to the older Atelier games, albeit with a classic turn-based format that has been (just a tiny bit) enhanced.

Some of the new features included in this third Iris game are an utterly original alchemy-leveling system. Players have the option to engage in alchemy to hone their skills, as well as produce new goods. The Active Cost Card Battle System displays your exact order in combat and adds a layer of strategy to the fray. Players can see their foes on the map thanks to the new Enemy Symbol Encounter System, enabling them to plan their design better. Players can take on missions given to them by their guilds, which can help raise their player rating.
