The puzzle game Bombastic, the sequel to Devil Dice, challenges players to remove all the exploding dice from the playing field. To start the dice rolling, you must move the top face of the die you are standing on next to the same number of interconnected dice with the same look (for example, connect five 5’s and four 4s). After a predetermined amount of time, the dice will explode, setting ablaze any dies that match the number or are one digit lower than those that the explosion touches. This is an extremely fast-paced game, and you must constantly move to avoid being knocked out and losing the game. If you sit atop an exploding dice, you will be eliminated from the competition.
In Bombastic, you can choose to play in one of three different modes: Trial Mode, in which you attempt to complete all one hundred levels; Story Mode, in which you go through stages attempting to solve predetermined puzzles and battle bosses; and Battle Mode, in which you face off against four different opponents and try to maintain your life for as long as possible. In addition to the regular Bombastic mode, you can unlock the original Devil Dice mode by playing the game, and in this mode, the dice will sink into the earth rather than explode.
