The action-packed video game Dead to Rights is a third-person shooter in which the player assumes the role of Grant City police officer Jack Slate. During a regular call, he came across the deceased body of his father. While looking for the killer, he was falsely accused of committing another murder. Jack is on the run from the law after committing a crime, and his flight from justice will lead him to various establishments, ranging from strip clubs and motels to office complexes and even prisons, where he will serve time.

When the player controls Jack, they can do various techniques, such as grabbing an opponent from behind and using him as a human shield or throwing a fire extinguisher and blasting it, generating a massive explosion. If Jack does not have a gun drawn, he can disarm an adversary, which will result in him stealing the adversary’s gun, and then he will perform some kind of finish, such as a neck breaker. A limited number of disarm moves are accessible at the beginning of the game; however, additional activities will become available as the player advances through the levels.

There will be instances when players must take control of Jack’s best buddy and companion, his K-9 dog Shadow. This will enable players to kill foes from a greater distance. In addition to this, Shadow is going to retrieve their firearms and deliver them to Jack.

There is also something called “adrenaline combat” in the game, somewhat similar to Max Payne’s “Bullet Time.” After that, Jack will do slow-motion dives and spins, providing him an edge as long as his adrenaline meter continues to register positive readings.
