The sequel to Juiced, this version provides a more in-depth look at the culture of car tuning and drifting, immersing the player in authentic music played at events and featuring female models alongside the vehicles.
Players can also race in a variety of events, including drifting, where they are awarded points and nitrous refills based on how long they keep their car sideways around a corner; playing for pinks, where cars are placed on the line with the winner keeping the loser’s vehicle, and the classic race to the finish line. There is also a career mode in which the player progresses through closed courses. Unlike the original, which required the player to avoid traffic, this iteration has a more organized feel.
There are authentic Exotics, European, Old Muscle, and New Muscle cars to choose from, as well as hundreds of actual racing parts that provide them with thousands of customization options, including the ability to personalize car labels and logos.
In addition to hiring and firing crews to work on the vehicles, players can compete against real drivers and their teams depicted in the game. Racing occurs worldwide, extending from England to San Fransisco, even Australia, and racing in Rome’s famed Coliseum.
Each version is nearly identical, except for the graphics, which vary depending on the capabilities of each system, and the circuit layout, which is slightly different in the Xbox 360 version. The Paris song is missing from the PSP version.
