The events of Riven take place 10 years after Myst 3: Exile, and the story focuses on a man seeking vengeance against Atrus.
The point-and-click interface used in Myst is carried over into the gameplay. Still, new technology that allows scrolling in any direction provides a more realistic gaming experience.
