Samurai Warriors 2 is a video game developed by Omega Force and published by KOEI. Omega Force and KOEI are the same companies responsible for developing and publishing the renowned Shin Sangoku Musou (Dynasty Warriors) series. Samurai Warriors 2, like its predecessor, is based on the Japanese Sengoku period, also known as the “Warring States” period. This was a time of social upheaval, political intrigue, and nearly constant military conflict in Japan. It lasted roughly from the middle of the 15th century to the beginning of the 17th century. Samurai Warriors 2 is set in the same world as the original game.

The hack-and-slash action takes place from the third-person perspective. There are a total of 26 characters available for you to play as. After you have selected your character, you will immediately be thrown into gigantic real-time conflicts. The objective of these engagements is to assist in claiming victory for your army by either vanquishing key opponent officers or simply slaughtering many enemy troops. This will increase your army’s morale and cause the tides of war to change in your favor.

The previous game has been updated with ten new warriors, including the famed Musashi Miyamoto, Ieyasu Tokugawa, the man credited with unifying Japan, and the mysterious ninja Kotaro Fuma. Every fighter has a distinct repertoire of moves and skills at his disposal. You can do things like set traps and call forth ninja decoys. Employ devastating Linked Charge attacks and fill up to three of your Musou gauges with power. Nowadays, castle warfare and field battles are almost indistinguishable from one another. On the battlefield, gaining control of castles can provide a considerable morale benefit for your army. There are several different game types, the most prominent of which are the Story, Free, and Survival modes. You can play with a friend in a method called “two-player Co-op,” or you can compete against them in a technique called “Sugoroku,” which supports up to four players.
