Samurai Warriors is a continuation of Koei’s popular Dynasty Warriors series. Instead of taking place in China during the Three Kingdoms period, Samurai Warriors transports you to feudal Japan during the Warring States period. In the game, you play historical personalities such as Yukimura Sanada, Nobunaga Oda, and Hattori Hanzo. There are fifteen characters in total, ten of which must be unlocked.
The gameplay is nearly comparable to that of Dynasty Warriors. The most significant modifications are the addition of inside castle levels and a more comprehensive range of opponents. Enemies in Dynasty Warriors were either troops or archers, and there were soldiers, archers, musketeers, and many varieties of ninjas in Samurai Warriors. In terms of story, there are five levels, but depending on your choices in a certain level relevant to each character, the report will split into two separate accounts, leading to either a happy or a not-so-good finish. The additions are rounded out by updated graphics and a more “techno-ish” soundtrack.
