Sly Cooper is the most recent in a long line of infamous mobsters and con artists. When he was still a young raccoon, a band of criminals known as the Fiendish Five murdered his family and stole their book on the techniques of theft, which was called the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly must prevail over every member of the gang to retrieve the book, all while escaping Carmelita Fox, a law enforcement investigator pursuing him around the world to capture him.
This game is broken up into five different worlds, each focusing on another region of the globe and the evil organization that has its headquarters there. Battles against bosses can also occur in various formats, such as platforming, more traditional forms of fighting, puzzles, rhythm games, or shooting games.
