The Sims 2: Castaway is a game in the Sims 2 universe and continues its story. This time, the player assumes control of a Sim washed up on an uninhabited island and is tasked with assisting the Sim in surviving and locating a way to return home.
As part of the gameplay, the player is tasked with exploring the island, gathering resources like food and building materials, as well as searching for hints that would lead them back home, all while fighting to stay alive amidst the numerous dangers that are dispersed around the island, including those posed by the elements. Discovering new places and unearthing hidden treasures can teach your Sims various valuable skills, such as constructing more sturdy homes and preparing food that their character can eat.
Similar to the other versions, players can also construct their own Sim and customize everything about them, from their hair and skin color to height and weight. The games are virtually indistinguishable from one another, except for the graphics and the control mechanism (the Wii uses the Wii controller, while the PSP and PS2 are very identical).
