Alison Crestmere, a teenage girl, is pursued through the streets of New York City by anti-mutant forces and members of The Brotherhood not long after she first demonstrates signs of possessing mutant powers. After being rescued by the X-Men, Alison is transported to the School for the Gifted, run by Professor Charles Xavier. It is there that she begins her journey to gain mastery over her skills related to lava.
A role-playing game that takes place in the Marvel Universe is known as X-Men: Legends. Legends depict the broad story of the struggle between mutants and humankind and the conflict between the X-Men and The Brotherhood while contrasting it with Alison’s personal story and the part she plays. The game supports both single-player and multiplayer modes.
Players take on armed guards, villainous mutants, and murderous Sentinels while controlling a party of four X-Men that they have selected from a roster that increases to 15 mutants. As the X-Men advance in levels, their mutant powers become more potent, but so do the obstacles they face, including avoiding a meltdown at a nuclear power plant and safeguarding an aircraft carrier.
