The first game in the Katamari series to be released for the PlayStation 3, Katamari Forever, was released in 2012. There are a total of thirty levels available; some of them are recycled from earlier games, while others are new. The King of All Cosmos took a blow to the head and now has amnesia due to the injury. The cousins create an evil robot replica of him that they call RoboKing, and it is up to the prince to restore the universe by rolling up garbage once more.
The Katamari ball, as is customary, can only roll up items that are less substantial than it is, and the prince is tasked with growing it to such a size that it can become a star. The levels that were played previously take place within the king’s skull and are presented in monochrome. The prince must stamp his image onto the dreams by rolling around.
Katamari Forever is the first game in the series to render in 1080p and boasts an aesthetic similar to a cel-shaded cartoon. In addition to this, the game supports local multiplayer and includes internet leaderboards.
