The Latin-themed action game Total Overdose, which was developed by the same company as Chili Con Carnage, is a semi-sequel to Chili Con Carnage, which is called Chili Con Carnage. The game reuses a significant portion of the stages and assets from the PS2 version; however, it also features new objectives and a framework modified to be more suitable for handheld play. The original game is a clone of Grand Theft Auto and has free-roaming gameplay; however, the PSP version focuses on shorter missions. It concentrates on the action sequences from Total Overdose, particularly those in which Ramiro employs his most impressive techniques to take out enemies and crowds.

El Gringo Loco, the game’s primary story mode, is indistinguishable from Total Overdose. The player assumes the position of Ramiro Cruz, a young guy who has recently witnessed his father’s death in the traditional Mexican method of driving a combine harvester through the office wall. As a result, Ramiro is now on a gun-fueled mission for vengeance throughout Mexico. El Macho, the game’s second single-player mode, consists of a collection of distinct mini-games that do not tell a story but provide access to various playable characters who each have their gameplay style. The game will also have two dynamic multiplayer modes: Hangman, which will support up to four players on a single console, and Fiesta, which will be available for play over Wi-Fi.

The gameplay is highly unrealistic, with bullet time and actions that defy gravity, and there is a large quantity of unusual weaponry to choose from.
