Infected is a humorous third-person zombie shooter emphasizing a comedic plot and combo-based killing.
It’s Christmas in New York, and Zombies have arrived to spoil the festivities. As New York Cop Agent Stevens, you discover that not only are you immune to the zombie virus, but your blood is so potent that it can cause a zombie to explode.
The gameplay revolves around shooting holes in zombies until they are weak enough for you to fire a vial of your blood into them, resulting in an explosion. Weaken enough zombies, fire a blood vial into one, and watch as exploding zombies spread your anti-zombie blood to more zombies.
The game was one of the first online PSP games, and it had a mode in which defeating an opponent gave them your infection, forcing their online avatar to look like your avatar. If they then beat someone, your virus will infect them as well. You could check a world map any time to see where your viral strain had traveled.
