The game N, which was initially a flash-based browser game, has been improved with the release of N+. The player navigates a miniature but nimble ninja through various constrained environments. The ability to run up walls, do wall jumps, and cover enormous distances is made possible because jumping requires only one button in addition to movement controls.

The game is divided into different episodes, which may be unlocked in stages. Every stage consists of a single screen with a set amount of time to complete, and gathering golden coins can extend the amount of time available to the player. Still, the primary objective is to trigger the exit, typically accomplished by pressing a particular button or opening a series of doors. The levels are packed with dangerous obstacles like spikes and robots that fire lasers or rockets at the player. In addition, there are challenges in the form of barriers, like platforms that can only move in one direction or falling harm from high media. The player never gets more than one chance at life, but there is no limit on the number of times they can try again.

The original levels, as well as user-created ones, are both included in the PSP version, which has a total of approximately 200 stations. Additionally, there is a level editor, and in contrast to the Xbox 360 version, the levels created with it can be traded with other players. The stages are displayed on the PSP version of the game from a “medium” distance; however, the DS version has a distant and close perspective on the screens. The physics of each game is also a little bit different from one another.

In multiplayer sessions, players can compete against one another or work together to complete objectives. Players can toggle between the “pure” mode, which displays the game’s original graphics, and the “plus” mode, which improves the game’s presentation. Unlockable content in this game includes new victory screens, new music, and new color options for the ninja.
