Spyro: Year of the Dragon is an adventure game produced by Insomniac Games in 2000. At the beginning of the game, you will see a celebration in the land of dragons. It is Spyro’s hometown, where the Year of the Dragon is celebrated on a twelve-year cycle after the new dragon’s eggs are brought to the land. However, things were not going well, a war that put Spyro’s Homeland in trouble. The butcher Bianca brought an army of ugly rhino-like creatures to invade the Dragon Kingdom. At the same time, he also steals all the Dragon Eggs and returns them to the Sorceress, which spreads the Dragon Eggs around the world every twelve years. There are a total of four main worlds in the game: Spring Sun, Noon Garden, Evening Lake, and Midnight Mountain. Amidst all the tensions in the dragon kingdom, Spyro, Sparx, and Hunter were the three knights sent to the worlds via a teleport gate to find the thief and retrieve the dragon’s eggs.
During his journey, Spyro discovers a world that appears to have been once inhabited by dragons but has been abandoned and forgotten. After learning, Spyro learns this world is under the rule of the witch and her army of Rhynoc. The dragon eggs are also taken by this witch. She used them to create magic that could make her immortal. When Bianca learns about this, she decides to help Spyro defeat the evil witch. Spyro defeated the witch but she survived and sought to absorb the eggs. Defeating the witch once again brought true victory to Spyro. He saved all of the last dragon eggs and returned them all to the dragon kingdom.
There are a total of three seven levels in the game. Your main goal is to collect all the missing dragon eggs in those levels. After completing each level or mission, you will randomly collect an egg. At the end of each level will be a powerful boss. However, the player does not necessarily have to collect enough eggs to complete the game. If the player is unable to find an egg at a certain level, return after completing 37 levels, and the eggs will automatically be delivered to you. In the game, there are also gems scattered around the world or randomly hidden in boxes and jars. You can use these gems to redeem a bear named Moneybag. He will show you how to pass the fastest level.
