Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation is a first-person flight and air combat simulator. Its tale campaign includes 15 missions in the Anean continent, north of Yuktobania, during the battle between the Republic of Emmeria and the Federal Republic of Estovakia. Cut scenes between missions convey the story of how the player’s actions affect the outcome of the conflict.
Ace Combat 6, like previous Ace Combat games, contains an enemy ace squadron that acts as an opponent throughout the game. Individual aces will also appear in each mission; shooting them will unlock a distinctive aircraft’s paint scheme. The game now includes new features such as ESM support, which allied and enemy forces may use. It dramatically improves the tracking ability of guided weapons, including standard missiles. A frontline resupply is another new feature. In the middle of a combat, players can now land on friendly airbases to replenish.
Ace Combat 6 includes fictional and legally licensed aircraft, like the F-16 Fighting Falcon, Mirage 2000-5, Tornado GR.4, A-10A Thunderbolt II, and many others. It also supports 2-16 player Xbox Live multiplayer with four preset modes: Battle Royale, Siege Battle, Team Battle, and Co-Op Battle.
