Grand Theft Auto V is set in Los Santos, five years after Grand Theft Auto IV. It revolves around three main characters: Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. The player can now switch between the three characters on the fly, a first for the series. They are all unique in their missions, lifestyles, and personalities. They also frequently collaborate, particularly for heists, a tough assignment in which a considerable operation must be planned and completed by developing a strategy and employing extra henchmen. Like previous games in the series, the gameplay involves gunfights. It takes place in a vast, open-world city where players navigate by gaining transportation (cars, boats, helicopters, and so on) through less-than-legal means. Players can explore the game world, accomplish story tasks, and engage in illicit actions such as shooting bystanders, robbing people, destroying cars, and car theft. These result in a wanted rating of up to five stars, attracting the attention of a police force. Continuing to resist the police will exacerbate the situation. Their desired status is erased by fleeing or spraying the vehicle.
While hiding in the witness protection program due to a botched heist nine years earlier, Michael meets Franklin, who is dispatched to fetch a car from Michael’s son Jimmy as a repo man. On the other hand, Michael thinks Franklin is being set up and orders him to smash his son’s car into the dealership that sent him. They eventually become pals. Michael catches his wife in bed with another guy one day and, with Franklin’s assistance, chases him to a mansion, which they swiftly burn down. Unfortunately, the property belongs to Mexican drug lord Martin Madrazo, who seeks compensation for what they did. They successfully rob a jewelry store, and when Michael’s former partner Trevor hears about it, he requests to join forces with the other two, who accept. Their lives begin to spin out of control from here.
GTA Online is the game’s multiplayer component. It takes place two months before the beginning of the single-player story. It allows up to 16 (PS3 / Xbox 360) or 30 (Xbox One / PS4 / PC) players to wander about a globe identical to the single-player universe to conduct story-driven tasks, both competitive and cooperative.
The subsequent PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions offer significant improvements and new features. Increased draw distance and support for higher resolutions are among the technical progress. New weapons, vehicles, and activities have been added, as well as more fauna, increased traffic, a new foliage system, better damage, and weather effects. There includes a new Imponte Duke O’Death vehicle, the Marshall Monster Truck, and the Xero Blimp, as well as stock car races with additional liveries.
