Things in Leaf Village seemed to be calming down after the onslaught from the Sand Village was repelled, but then Orochimaru showed up, seeking vengeance for his desire for power, and launched an attack on the village. The village has been destroyed, and Naruto and his friends and teachers must work together to rebuild it and foil the plots of those who would destroy it.

The action-platformer Naruto: The Broken Bond is the sequel to the popular Rise of a Ninja. It continues the tale of the anime from where the last game left off. The player assumes control of Naruto and up to two other partners as they complete missions for Jiraiya and the Hokage in and around Leaf Village. The game has traditional side-view battle sequences, including tag teams and group assaults.

There are a lot of tweaks to the game’s mechanics. Many jutsu have been made more accessible to perform, such as chakra focus being engaged instantly while climbing walls or walking on water, and a far more comprehensive selection of skills being available to employ, whether exploring or fighting, thanks to the addition of other playable characters. Fishing, bounty hunting, hide-and-seek, and the game booths in Tanzaku are just a few of the many minigames and side tasks available in the game. By completing these missions, Naruto will strengthen his fighting skills.

The game features a story mode and a free-for-all battle mode supporting up to four players. It supports both local play and multiplayer sessions over Xbox Live. As the tale progresses, new playable characters and arenas become available in the battle mode. The game has full voice acting in English and Japanese and has three different degrees of difficulty.
