Dark to Perfection Zero is a prequel to the Nintendo 64 game Perfect Dark that takes place years before the original. Joanna Dark is not yet the ideal agent, and it is up to the player to help her get there. “Zero” is a first-person shooter like the original, with plenty of sci-fi gadgets and weaponry – some familiar, some new.
As a bounty hunter, she and her father, Jack, inadvertently trample on the toes of dark businesses, revealing a global conspiracy. Joanna and Jack find themselves fighting for the destiny of the entire planet, forever altering their fates.
You can carry up to four different weapons, but larger guns take up more inventory space. Therefore, you can only carry one machine gun at a time. Having heavier weapons reduces your running speed. There is no jump button, but the game includes innovative tactical options based on the setting; with a single button press, you can take cover behind barriers, do athletic rolls, and so on. You can even disarm your opponents by taking their firearms from their grasp.
There are several multiplayer possibilities, including four-player split-screen, cooperative play, and the spy thriller single-player game. Xbox Live introduces a few new ideas and twists to classic game modes, such as entirely expandable environments. Live also includes a built-in ranking system.
